Born in El Ferrol, A Coruña, 1963

Since she initiated her artistic career in the late 1980s, Pamen Pereira has been carrying out multidisciplinary artistic activities as she alternates drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and video. Her creative practice is profoundly linked to her life experience, imagination, and zen philosophy, with nature being the main starting point and poetic material for her work. Her nautical charts are the immediate precedent to the works she presents in Drawing Room in which the cultural references again allow her to reflect on reality. This is shown in the drawing of a river basin tinted blood-red that beats below the earth to flow through a mountain range that refers to the isometric projections of the Antarctic continent that she carried out after her journey to Antarctica with the “Ice Blink” project in 2005 and 2006.
