RUTH MORAN

Presented by GALERÍA SICART

Ruth Morán, original from Extremadura, has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. With several scholarships and awards to her credit, she has exhibited individually in important Spanish art centers, such as the MEIAC of Badajoz, the CAAC of Seville or the Art Center of Alcobendas and has participated in international fairs such as Ch.ACO, Art Lima, ARCO, Context Art Miami, Pinta Art London, ArteBA, Los Angeles or Berliner Liste. Her unique compositions in white on black background of abstract vocation are the result of the use of different procedures, from vinyl tempera and markers to her recent perforated papers made by hand, almost always of generous proportions. Ruth Morán has evolved from the use of tangled linear patterns of textile appearance that occupied practically the entire compositional surface to the presentation of densely stratified tectonic constructions, more geometric and ordered, gravitating on the empty space and establishing a dialogue with it.
