The photographs of Soledad Córdoba address pain and identity through narrative artifices in which she introduces herself as a model in fragmented scenes that make up thematic series.
The emotional pain is once again the focus of her work in the series “Devastation”, that enters in the process of the relationship rupture and its consequences, a trip with stops in the desolation and the silence, and that finishes with a cure in which a an artistic process of self-knowledge is the factor of change. It is this self-knowledge that best portrays the drawings that are part of the project: the artist’s large blue eyes stand out in the faces covered by lace and vegetal ramifications, as thresholds where the interior and exterior of each person are located.
Córdoba has continued to create drawings that delve into identity explorations in her latest project “Resistance” for the Barjola Museum in Gijón.
