Alejandro Martínez holds a PhD in Art History, he is a gallery owner and publisher. His research work has focused on Spanish art and cultural history in the second half of the 18th century and, in particular, on drawing. As an author, he has published the first translation into Spanish of the work by J. J. Winckelmann –Historia de las Artes entre los Antiguos (RABASF, 2014)- and, together with Esperanza Navarrete, Patrimonio en conflicto. Memoria del botín napoleónico recuperado (1815-1819) (RABASF, 2015); as well as various articles in specialised journals. In 2018 he completed the catalogue raisonné of drawings by Luis Paret y Alcázar (CEEH-BNE), and curated the exhibition dedicated to the artist at the Biblioteca Nacional de España.
