ALEJANDRA DE LA TORRE

Castellon, Spain, 1983

PEPITA LUMIER

Bachelor’s degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Alejandra de la Torre has completed her training in Lisbon.
Her creative impulse leads her to use multiple languages in her artistic representations, using materials rescued from family memories or materials bought in street markets around the world.
The “Herencias” project for Drawing Room Madrid, which includes the “Herencias para Isabel” capsule collection, is an exercise of emotional exposure about the links we develop with the objects that surround us, about the need to retain and accumulate and the limits that are sometimes blur between possession and obsession.
The object goes from being the centre to being the narrative through common materials and always with drawing as the basis of all her work, both on canvas and on paper. She has participated in several national and international exhibitions both collective and individual, as well as in several fairs.
