Daniel Verbis’ works correspond to drawings from the series Psicogramás (Imágenes de archivo, 2000-2018), Work in Progress, that the artist has thought as the ghostly negative of his own painting. If painting with all its contradictions were the conscious positive of the subject, these drawings, engravings and collages would be his unconscious negative, the product of sleep, illnessa and fear. Archives in black and white of a full-color painting that wants to be an x-ray of the artist himself, a clear metaphor of that subject who wants to make visible the imagined. Together with these Psychograms we can see some of his artist’s books, a work that Daniel Verbis has been quietly doing for years.
