LA CARBONERÍA – ESPACIO DE ARTE

The work of Elián Stolarsky revolves around the relationship between memory, migration and history, and the imbrication of these elements with both persona and collective matters. She combines traditional techniques and art forms with new materials and installations as a way of materializing her point of view on history. She uses etching as a metaphor of the action of remembering obsessive details that turn fundamental and build new universes, with the only aim of understanding where she comes from and where she aspires to go to.
The project she presents at Drawing Room Madrid, trough methacrylate, photos and drawings, goes over the ordinary in the midst of turbulent periods in twentieth-century Europe. Each piece brings into play the relationship of the individual with the collective, allowing the viewer to recognize himself, regardless of the particular historical context, in that which may be called “human”.
