JUAN CUÉLLAR

Spain, 1967

MY NAME’S LOLITA

The artistic practice of Juan Cuéllar, heir of the Valencian pop, investigates the contemporary landscape with a humorous look. In his artworks he presents the city and the individuals who inhabit it, always immersed in a silence that becomes strange, with an iconography that, at times, reminds us of Edward Hopper. His artworks are in important collections and institutions, including the Spanish Academy in Rome, the ARTIUM, the DKV Collection, the Coca-Cola Foundation, the IVAM and the Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid.
