MARTA BARRENECHEA

Spain, 1964

GALERÍA SILVESTRE

Marta Barrenechea is an artist with a singular style, her own, almost indefinable. Her work is profound, simple and constant at the same time; marked with a personal and continuous stamp. We will present a selection of unusual works in terms of technique – drawings on ceramics – but not in terms of subject matter, as this is what characterises her production, with small forms that are repeated in a sort of crazy patterning, or forms on which she draws concentrically around them, generating elements such as loops, or a whole series of rhizomes that avoid the geometric and which form the axis of her compositions.

Marta Barrenechea looks at her surroundings from an innocent but not childish perspective, open to curiosity and surprise, and above all to the capture of beauty in what is close to her. And these works are the result.
