Rubén Tortosa’s artistic production is related to the investigations arising from the act of looking through technological devices and the processes derived from the use of technology. The artist approaches creation from a reflective work around image and representation, focusing his interest on the visualization of data.
The installation The Bird: the journal of the image, composed of a drawing machine based on a Cartesian system of three axes, is connected to a data source with the daily geolocation of a protected bird of prey over a period of one year. The result of interpreting the data collected are random lines that reflect the bird’s daily journey, transforming the work of art into new forms of knowledge and interaction with space and time.
